Typography is...

For this piece we were told to create a piece of typography using just one font in it's different form using only the colours black and white. These limitations caused me to create a piece with a very simple and minimal look with the emphasis being on the type alone.

Visual Studies

This is a collection of images for my visual studies in which we had to do observational drawings and simplify them down there basic elements. I used various techniques such as stenciling, monoprints, ink drawings and stitching to create my visuals.

Life Drawing

In our visual studies sessions we took part in life drawing, this enabled me to hone my drawing skills and be able to realistically recreate the human body. I feel that drawing skills are an essential part of graphic design as it helps with expressing initial ideas in visuals and thumbnail sketches for development.

Type and Letterforms

For this project we had to create a 3D letter and then use it with an existing company as a logo or piece of rebranding. I chose to recreate a Penguin book cover using my letter in place of the Penguin logo. The layout was a reproduction of the designs by Jan Tschichold which began being used by Penguin in the mid 50's.
